Logan has spent years searching for his mate. He never imagined that fate would pick someone so perfect for him, though. His instant attraction to Keeton is more than just some shifter pheromone thing. It’s love at first sight.

His ex-girlfriend has other plans for the cursed shifter though. An Arsidian Demon in her mating heat, she is hell-bent on having Logan as her own and eradicating the competition...Keeton. Can Logan save his new mate before the full moon, or will he lose his angel forever?

By the Light of the Moon Sneak Peek

Hello my lovelies! I'm not having the greatest of days and need a little pick-me-up. This scene makes me smile! Hope you enjoy.

Keeton threw open the door, propelled himself out of the car, and strode straight up to his peeved lover. “What the fuck was that for?”
“Where the hell do you think you’re going?” Logan countered. “I told you not to leave the house!”
“I’m not a fucking child, nor am I a prisoner. I’m not even a fucking princess you can lock inside the highest tower.” Keeton had moved past the point of yelling and right on to screeching, but there was no stopping now. “And even if I were, you are supposed to be the knight that comes and rescues me. Not the troll that put me there in the first place!”
“This is ridiculous.” Keeton yelped when Logan lifted him off his feet without warning and threw him over one heavily muscled shoulder. “You are not going anywhere, so just shut up, put on your big girl panties, and deal with it, Your Highness.”
That’s it. Keeton completely lost his shit. He began kicking and screaming, beating on Logan’s rock-hard back with his fists. “Put me down, asshole! I can go anywhere I want. I swear, I’m going to kick your ass!”
He yelped again when he felt himself flying through the air and abruptly deposited on the front porch. “Oh ho, going to kick my ass, huh?” Logan smirked. “You and what army, little man?”
Keeton didn’t know what came over him. He had never been more pissed off at anyone in his life. He glared up at his mate for a split second before his fist shot out, seemingly of its own accord, and connected squarely with Logan’s nose.
“Oww!” He had never hit anyone before. It hurt like hell. Cradling his hand to his chest, he glared at his lover again. It was all Logan’s fault anyway.
The glare quickly slid off his face, and he slapped his left hand over his mouth. Blood ran profusely from Logan’s nose, dribbling over his mouth and down his chin to soak his shirt. “Oh crap,” Keeton breathed through his fingers.
Logan pulled his shirt off and mopped the blood from his face. He gingerly fingered his battered nose before turning a menacing glare on Keeton. “You broke my nose, you little shit!”
“Oh crap,” Keeton whispered again before darting off the porch and around the side of the house.

If You Can't Say Something Nice...

In the interest of branching out and trying something new, I sent a manuscript to a publisher (who will remain unnamed) under a different pseudonym.

After waiting several weeks, I receive an email asking for edits and resubmission. Okay, I can live with that. The edits weren't bad, so I complied, making the required changes and re-sending my manuscript. Another several weeks go by before I receive yet another email asking for additional changes. While I do not have a problem making necessary edits, I do have a problem with someone trying to rewrite my story and my characters.

I was asked to remove sentiments, endearments, and anything else that may show some form of emotion. Uh...really? Sorry, not my style. Then I was asked to remove three supporting characters because they "served no purpose." Okay. Considering they play a huge role in tying the plot together, I think they served a purpose. The editor then goes on to tell me that I need to delete not a paragraph, not a scene, but three, THREE, pivotal chapters, because - again - they "serve no purpose." Hmm, the three chapters were not consecutive, but spaced throughout the manuscript, and held most of the major plot points of the storyline.

I write back and politely decline further changes, stating that I will be taking my manuscript elsewhere. I ignorantly believe this is the end of my association with said publisher. Alas, no. I receive a fairly nasty follow up letter, stating that these were standard edits and hinted that I should have been thrilled to bend over backward to please them. The email then goes on to say that it is highly unlikely that my story will be published by any other company, I need to strengthen my writing style before submitting future works, and basically not to bother submitting to them again. Yeah, no problem there!

I have since submitted my story to Siren and am currently awaiting a response. Sometimes it's best to just stick with what you know.

Exciting Day Here in Evans-ville!

Big news for Keeton Fans! I received line edits today for By the Light of the Moon! Woohoo! My publisher says we're aiming for a March release date. Double Woohoo!

Also, a new series is born! Life Out Loud, the first book in my new Salem Nights series, was accepted for publication today. It's my first het story (aww don't give me that look. I'm trying to be...diverse) and I'm really excited about it. Trust me... You're going to love Quinn!

In other holy-shite news, I'm almost finished with Whispers in the Night, the third book in The Moonlight Breed series. Another chapter or so and then pre-submission edits. :)

And one last tidbit. I'm doing an interview for Breaching Prejudices, a new GLBT ezine. I'll post updates when I know more about it. Also, look for excerpts, some yummy cover goodness, and even some give-aways to come in the next few weeks. :)

Even this craptacular weather can't bum me out today! *Happy Dance*
